Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) has secured a significant contract within the North West to replace existing modular and mobile MRI scanners and provide full time radiology staffing at two hospitals.
One Northwest hospital is set to receive two state-of-the-art Siemens MRI Sola scanners. The Sola comes equipped with groundbreaking acceleration software that optimises image quality and reduces scan times. The new system employs BioMatrix technology, which adapts to each patient’s unique anatomy, ensuring more precise imaging and reducing the need for rescans. Additionally, its AI-powered software enables automatic adjustments during the scanning process, allowing for faster, more consistent results across a wider range of body types and conditions.
The Sola also offers expanded diagnostic capabilities, enabling advanced applications such as whole-body MRI and enhanced neurological imaging. This not only speeds up diagnosis but also allows for earlier intervention, which can be critical in patient care. The implementation of these new scanners and systems will significantly reduce waiting times and increase patient throughput.
New Hybrid Viato scanner for Northwest Trust
Another Northwest hospital will also undergo an upgrade, replacing its current mobile MRI system with a new hybrid Siemens Viato scanner. This hybrid solution promises to deliver a vastly improved patient experience, combining the flexibility of a mobile scanner with the superior diagnostic capabilities of a permanent system. The Viato’s hybrid design ensures that it can be rapidly deployed in different locations, providing a versatile solution for the hospital evolving needs while maintaining a high standard of patient comfort and imaging quality.
Expanding capacity and reducing wait times
The RMS team, consisting of highly trained Radiographers and Clinical Support Workers, will manage and operate these new MRI scanners. RMS will manage the radiology waiting lists at both sites for up to 14 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This extended imaging schedule is designed to meet the high demand for MRI services, significantly reducing wait times and ensuring that patients receive prompt diagnoses.
We are delighted to assist in the next phase of this Trust’s diagnostic imaging journey. The introduction of the new Siemens top-of-the-range scanners will mean better quality, more comfortable scans for more patients and that is exactly what RMS is all about – we’re here to help the NHS get patients on pathways to diagnosis and treatment as quickly as possible.
