RMS Wins Value Based Procurement Accolade at the Eis Awards

RMS, the radiology management business, was delighted to pick up the ‘Value Based Procurement’ award at the Excellence in Supply Awards for the North last night. The award recognises the value that RMS provides in delivering innovative radiology services to NHS Trusts.
The Excellence in Supply Awards were held at the Royal Armouries, Leeds and promote private sector organisations working in partnership with the NHS to deliver high quality, effective and efficient patient care; helping the health service to do more for less.

The judges for the Value Based Procurement award were looking at the impact that companies have on helping the NHS make good and valuable procurement decisions.

Michael Lancaster, Commercial Director, commented “We are delighted that RMS has been recognised for adding value to the NHS. We work with many trusts to find ways to reduce radiology waiting lists, helping patients to be scanned, diagnosed and treated more quickly. Our services replace costly mobile scanning units and save the NHS money whist using their existing in-house equipment.”

Highlight of the awards evening was a keynote from Sir Ian Carruthers OBE, who spoke passionately about his experiences working in, and with, the NHS. His comments about procurement across the NHS were well received and understood, particularly the importance of driving tax payer value and decisive capacity management.

RMS has customers across the North and Wales. The business works with Trusts to extend the opening hours of a radiology department using existing in-house CT, MRI and Ultrasound equipment and providing additional highly qualified radiographers. RMS helped its NHS customers save over £1.7m last year, when compared to using costly mobile units on site, completing over 64,000 scans for the NHS. RMS services are available quickly through a number of framework agreements.
